There’s something great about learning by teaching and supporting others. It’s no reason why I’ve always been a fan of insider tips and advice. Whether it’s about maintaining your car or how to build your business within Infusionsoft, there are countless professionals who have deep knowledge that would benefit everyone.
With that in mind, I recently asked our amazing Infusionsoft Certified Consultants (ICCs) for tips to share with users on using Infusionsoft.
Don’t worry, you won’t learn how to change oil in this entry. (But while we’re on the topic, don’t forget to change it every 3,000 miles or three months.)
ICCs are experienced third-party consultants who help small businesses like you implement Infusionsoft. Learn from them, save time and drive big results for your business. You can find ICCs to help you with your next big campaign in the Infusionsoft Marketplace.
13 Infusionsoft Tips from Infusionsoft Certified Consultants (ICCs)
- Always develop with your technical level in mind. If you make the site too complex to manage, you will be dependent on a lot of technical support.
– Cheryl Hunt - Custom Fields can function as Tags.
– Ross Walker - Add a Paragraph Snippet for each paragraph in emails. This will help maintain integrity and minimize issues while formatting your email templates.
– Christian Wiles - When you start and end a sequence, ask yourself, “What tags should I apply and remove here to most accurately reflect what this contact has done and not done?” Remember, the more information you have on a person’s actions and inactions, the better you can personalize your communication.
– Peter Daly-Dickson - When using Tags to represent Dates, and you have many dates to represent, start the tag with “YYMMDD-” This will sort the tags automatically when listed in drop down menus.
– Christian Wiles - Always ask yourself “What if my prospect or customer doesn’t do what I want them to do?” Then, plan your campaign accordingly. We always plan for success, which is good. Even the most successful campaigns will bleed opportunity onto the floor if you don’t redirect it.
– Tyler Garns - If you’re in the middle of writing a campaign and you need to look something up in your app, you can open a second browser tab and navigate your application to save having to come all the way out of the Campaign Builder. Be sure to close that tab after you’re done to save confusion and prevent issues.
– Alasdair McWilliam - The Goal of every email is a click. Don’t worry so much about open rates as they can be misleading.
– Alasdair McWilliam - Use Infusionsoft’s HTTP Post feature to automate the filling in of Web Forms on third-party sites from email clicks. For instance, this works well with GoToWebinar.
– Alasdair McWilliam - Smart business owners must focus on their Unique Abilities such as creating, networking and engaging. Relate those to their top ten revenue generators and leave the rest of the equation to their expert team and support staff.
– Raven Howard - Utilize the Note snippet in Campaign Builder to summarize the purpose of the campaign, explain any integrations and create a mini-project to-do list.
– Raven Howard - Make sure your Campaigns address hot, warm and cold sequences so that you can best match your marketing tone with your prospect’s mindset.
– Raven Howard - Bigger isn’t better when it comes to email lists. Due to the changing environment, it is now the business owners responsibility to properly manage their email list and constantly eliminate bad email addresses, bounces and people who are not interested in what you have to say. Focus on engagement and you will have a cleaner running and more profitable business.
