This month, I’m talking with Justin MacDonald, who is an Infusionsoft Success Coach and recently wrote a tutorial on using Infusionsoft Internal Web Forms.
Tell us about yourself, Justin.
I’m passionate about my beautiful wife of ten years and our three boys. I was formerly a collegiate and prep school football coach and literature teacher with a Master’s degree in technology implementation. I use Infusionsoft to run my small business, Authority Football, which provides private quarterback development.
How do you help small businesses succeed?
I help small businesses succeed as an Infusionsoft Success Coach. This means that I work with new customers through onboarding to create a foundation for their use of the software, and help existing customers by analyzing, developing and implementing Infusionsoft further to better build their businesses.
What tips do you have for a new user to Infusionsoft?
Infusionsoft is an incredible, robust tool meant to simplify and automate small businesses’ incredibly complex systems of sales and marketing. Automating, simplifying and systematizing the manual, complex, and chaotic processes requires time and thoughtful design. Create an implementation strategy that prioritizes and scaffolds your implementation from the foundation, to the next level, then the next. In the words of Henry David Thoreau, “Simplify. Simplify. Simplify.”
What do most small businesses lack?
Many small businesses lack the time devoted to designing and assessing their own processes. Having a clear identity and a clear mission is key. Start with “why,” then declare your “how,” and finally “what” will fall into place, creating a lean and efficient process.
What feature of Infusionsoft do you love the most and why?
I love the workflow features allowing small businesses to automate and systematize the repeatable, time-intensive tasks of the week that can save dozens or hundreds of hours. And I love how Infusionsoft allows businesses to personalize automated communication to the right contacts at the right time.
For long-time Infusionsoft users, how you recommend they take their success further?
Veteran users of Infusionsoft can take their success further by doing a few things:
- If you haven’t already, learn the software more. There’s a really good chance it can do things you may not realize or remember. Leverage all of the great support resources and on-going training classes.
- Continue to read and observe what others are doing and get ideas and strategies that can be beneficial to your business.
