This week, we’ll be sharing interesting stories behind the Battle of the Apps Finalists, so you can get a feel for who is behind innovative solutions in the Marketplace. The Battle of the Apps Finalists have put in a lot of work to help make your experience with Infusionsoft even better. Learn more about what apps made it to the finals in our blog post here.
Meet Daniel Cronin, founder of Event Awesome and owner of MotionLeap. He’s been programming since the age of nine – yes, nine. Based out of San Diego, he studied at Business Operations Management at California State University. Today, he blends his love of technology and business together into solving larger business problems with technology.
It would be an understatement to say that he knows a thing or two about marketing and programming.
Discovering Infusionsoft
Daniel discovered Infusionsoft when working for a previous employer. He was focused on building out their marketing funnels and contributed to their web application. While initially focused on their own use of the app, they realized it was fit for others to use.
Since then, he has been freelancing as a web application developer. He enjoys working closely with Infusionsoft users because they are rich with ideas and are enthusiastic about their business and love entrepreneurship.
“Infusionsoft customers rock,” exclaimed Daniel in his email to me. It’s no surprise – you have been busy. He mentioned that Infusionsoft has a vibrant community of entrepreneurs. Daniel enjoys working on Infusionsoft-related projects since he’s pretty passionate about small business himself.
Customer Demand
Daniel performed a lot of research into what attendees desire from events they attend. He packaged his findings into making the attendee experience better on a budget that fits for small business organizers. He’s also received feedback from event organizers and they have helped to polish Event Awesome into what it is today.
At the end of the day, he’s designed Event Awesome to make the attendee experience better. It makes the organizers look better – and hopefully a little less stressed out during the live event.
Love of Small Business
Daniel enjoys creating solutions for Infusionsoft users because they tend to be quite enthusiastic about their business and entrepreneurship in general. Even at a young age, he’s been fascinated with small businesses. Since businesses have the ability to reach millions of people he feels good that he’s able to help more people through his talents.
More about Event Awesome
At its core, Event Awesome is an event management application for small businesses. With deep Infusionsoft integration, you can be able to check people in to your event easily and reliably. Attendees will have a smoother and more fulfilling experience.
Event Awesome is better than other event management systems are features that are very useful for event organizers. Say you have special event attendees that you need to know about when they arrive, you can be notified via text-message – a valuable feature whenever you have sponsors or speakers who attend your event so you can welcome them in your own special way.
You can also quickly and easily collect feedback live at your event. You can do this with their SMS Instant Feedback System, a feature that functions as a live chat-room for text messaging. This has been successfully used to collect donations at a charity event. The coolest part is that guests see their messages show up live on the big screen (like at concerts). He’s also added in capabilities that protect and preserve attendee’s privacy, too.
The pricing model for Event Awesome scales with you. It starts at $19 per month and $0.89 per ticket. For event-related SMS messages, you can send them at $0.04 each.
Customer Response
Since Event Awesome is new to the Marketplace, there aren’t any reviews yet. Daniel tells me that customers have been using features of the app for a while with great success. He’s already seeing events get scheduled in the future on his event management platform.

What’s Next?
I asked Daniel to share what future plans he has for Event Awesome. As you can tell, it’s a full-featured app, but there are a number of nifty ideas that Daniel is planning to add in the future. A few areas of interest for him are e-commerce functions, lead generation and greater SMS (text messaging) features.
